Reach level 2 - pops almost immediately as you earn your first bit of XP. Unmissable.

You will unlock this after defeating the first boss in the game (Shiv) and releasing Claptrap (once you free him, stand next to him and hold X to revive him).

Story-forced - pops on 'Taking Flight', where you escape Pandora aboard Sanctuary III and open up the galaxy. Unmissable.

Story-forced - completing 'Hostile Takeover' on Promethea. Unmissable.

Story-forced - completing 'Atlas, At Last' on Promethea, helping Rhys reclaim the Atlas corporation. Unmissable.

Story-forced - completing 'Beneath the Meridian' on Promethea. This is also the mission that unlocks your 4th weapon slot. Unmissable.

Story-forced - completing 'Lair of the Harpy' on Athenas, Maya's monastery world. Unmissable.

You'll first find slot machines at Moxxi's on Sanctuary, although there are a few others around the game too.

Drops are random - so just keep playing until you get a live grenade drop.

The cost of each spin increases with your level, so its not necessarily beneficial to wait until late game to try this.   Although, there's a lot of cash to collect in the Handsome Jackpot DLC, so after doing that might be a good time.

Story-forced - completing 'Cold as the Grave' on Eden-6. This is also the mission that unlocks your Artifact slot (much later than the 4th weapon slot). Unmissable.

Story-forced - completing 'Blood Drive' back on Pandora. Unmissable.

Story-forced - completing 'The Great Vault' on Pandora. Unmissable.

Story-forced - completing 'In the Shadow of Starlight' on Nekrotafeyo, the final planet. Unmissable.

Got all Vault Rewards - awarded as you claim the rewards from the story Vaults across the campaign. Comes naturally by the end of the main story. Unmissable.

The final main-story mission - completing 'Divine Retribution' beats the game and is your story-complete pop. Unmissable.

Moxxi is in Sanctuary and you'll have to visit her as part of the story. The tip jar is on the bar. It doesn't matter how much you give.

Use a golden key.  This can be done at the huge gnarly chest on Sanctuary.

You'll need an active SHiFT account (see the in game menus) - and to use it to redeem SHiFT codes for golden keys.  Google and follow BL3 on Twitter to get codes.

Using a key to open the chest will net you a bunch of purple/gold weapons and equipment.

There are 30 altogether.  You'll spot them as you go through the game and they'll have a bright triangular icon on your map.

However you cannot decipher them until near the end of the story when you gain a specific ability to do so.   Then you'll have to go back to them all (locations guide coming soon) and interact with each one - its worth 25 Eridium apiece!

Discover all named locations on Nekrotafeyo.

You don't get to this planet until much later in the story.

Defeat all of Zer0's Targets of Opportunity - special named enemies flagged by Zer0 across the planets. Work through the full list with a locations guide; the one pictured is Heckle & Hyde on Eden-6.

Defeat all of Hammerlock's Legendary Hunts - special named creatures marked around the worlds and given as hunts by Hammerlock. Track down each one; a locations guide covers the full set.

Discover every named location across all planets - this pops once you've uncovered them all, so it follows the per-planet discovery achievements (A Hundred Names For Sand, City Slicker, Swamped, Exoarchaeolo—You Get The Gist). Explore each map fully.

These are like horde mode challenges, with 5 rounds of enemies each with multiple waves.  Complete all three for the achievement.

Discover all named locations on Promethea, the neon corporate world. Explore every zone; area names fill in as you reach them. Contributes to Master Of All You Survey.

Discover all named locations on Eden-6, the swamp world. Explore each zone fully; contributes to Master Of All You Survey.

Discover all named locations on Pandora, the desert homeworld. Roam every zone; contributes to Master Of All You Survey.

Complete every side mission in the game (the yellow-marked optional missions across all planets, DLC included). A big undertaking; À La Carte (20 side missions) comes along the way.

The base-game completion award - unlocks automatically once every other base-game achievement is done. The DLC achievements are a separate set and aren't required for it.

You'll get this for completing all the main missions in the DLC.

You can start the DLC by reading a poster outside Moxxi's on Sanctuary.

Through the Handsome Jackpot DLC you'll encounter some fancy chests with a robotic voice as you approach.  To open them, 'cards' are drawn onto the front, keep drawing to get close to a total of 21 (king/queen/jack = 10).

If you go bust (exceed 21) you'll get nothing special from the chest.

Make sure to open every chest you find and this should pop sooner or later.  Some chests are in the VIP areas which you'll need to pay to enter.

If you miss them, you can revisit again later to try again.

During the Moxxi Handsome Jackpot DLC, there'll be a point where a claptrap gets 'stuck'. Just come back to the same point anytime after and talk to get the achievement. You can still do this after completing the DLC. Its in the Compactor level, due north from the central fast travel point right at the top.

You'll see these on the minimap as you progress through the Handsome Jackpot missions; they appear as small diamond-boxed grenade-like icons.  They all appear on the map well in advance of you getting close to them so they are hard to miss.

When you physically get close, Mr Torgue will speak and say something rowdy as only he can...

Hit each bottle of sauce to explode it and get the achievement.

They will mostly require some jumping/acrobatics to get to - but nothing too hard.

You can revisit areas after completing the DLC if you miss any; scout on the map to spot them.

Sabotage every statue for Ember - work through the marked statue-destruction objectives. A collectibles guide covers all the locations.

A Challenge in Moxxi's Handsome Jackpot DLC - collect all 5 pieces of the Mayor's outfit, scattered around the Jackpot as hidden collectibles. Use a locations guide to track down each piece.

Finish the "Sisterly Love" mission first, then head to the central Spendopticon area - just south of the main part there's a random-spawn spot that produces an Ice Loader, a Shock Loader, a Hot Loader or the Debt Collector. You may need to quit and reload several times to roll the Debt Collector; it's a big one, walking about on its own. Once it spawns, kill it.

Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC story boss - kill the Wendigo. Unmissable on the DLC's main path.

Story-forced in the Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC - complete the wedding of Wainwright and Hammerlock ('marry your friends'). Unmissable.

You can get these rare spawn missions to kill specific named enemies from the Lodge, upstairs.  But kills are still eligible whether you pick up the mission or not, so when you find the creatures along the way (you are exploring every area along the way right?) then take them out and you may get this just naturally.

Complete every crew challenge and side mission on Xylourgos, the Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC world. Sweep the whole map; a checklist helps you catch any you've missed.

There are various fish around the DLC - they talk and tell a joke and spit out some weapons afterwards.  Listen to 25 for the achievement.  There aren't actually 25 fish so may need to save-scum a little - but this also means you haven't got to find them all; you can just scum the one in the lodge repeatedly...

...and the easiest way to do this is just to do the fish every time you go back there through the DLC (and after finishing the DLC) and you'll get there soon enough.

Collect all the ECHO logs scattered across Xylourgos (Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC). A collectibles map is the reliable way to catch every one.

Deathtrap appears on three separate occassions during the DLC.  Just stand back and let him kill.  you can weaken enemies `- but deathtrap must land the killing shot.

If you miss this, go back to Xenocardiac Containment and redo the Empowered Grawn boss battle - Deathtrap will be there for that...

Also, progress is profile-wide (not per character) so you can continue with  fresh character if you want.

Story-forced in the Bounty of Blood DLC (the Gehenna wild-west world) - pops on completing 'Blood from a Stone'. Unmissable.

Fustercluck DLC story boss - defeat Locomöbius. Unmissable on the DLC's main path.

The final boss of the Fustercluck DLC - defeat Psychoreaver. Unmissable; beating it finishes the DLC story.

Explore all of Vaulthalla - the reward area you reach after finishing the Fustercluck DLC story. Wander through and uncover the whole space; not missable, you can return anytime.

Complete every side mission and crew challenge in Krieg's Mind (the Fustercluck DLC). Mop up each yellow side mission and crew challenge across the DLC's zones; a checklist helps you spot any you've missed.

Reach level 10 - comes naturally within the first hour or two of normal play.

Some reports of this being glitchy.  It'll be fixed - or may have already been - so don't panic too much.

You get heads/skins (rarely) as random drops - or from the slot machines at Moxxi's, or you can by them from Crazy Earl in the basement of Sanctuary.  If you're buying them this will help toward My Name Is Earl too.

Hold the action button over another (human!) player once they've been downed.

It helps to use the safe in Sanctuary to store items for this so you don't have to carry them around all the time. I.e. it doesn't matter what level or how good the items are - only their colour.

Note the 4th weapon slot only becomes available after completing the story mission "Beneath the Meridian", and the artifact slot only after "Cold as the Grave" (which is much later).  You therefore can't get this achievement until after that point...

You'll get a few of these naturally through completing the story and side missions.

Otherwise, for each new/different type of vehicle you hijack and bring back to a vehicle spawning station you'll get new parts.  Keep doing this.  It has to be a vehicle you haven't brought back before (but different variations of the same base type of vehicle do count).

50 is the level cap for the base game, but since raised with the DLCs.  If you're doing the full game and all side missions and the DLCs you shouldn't have too much trouble getting to level 50.  Plus then there's Mayhem mode and TVHM also...

Fairly easy; just do what it says on the tin.  It helps ofc to keep an eye out for sticky grenade mods early on and just keep equipped while playing generally so that you're ready to take advantage of a situation with enemies close together as soon as one arises.

Win a round of Arms Race - the roguelite mode added in the Designer's Cut DLC, where you drop in with no gear and scavenge loot. Reach and beat the final Heavyweight Harker boss to win a round; easier solo on a lower difficulty.

You need to get 100 kills with a weapon from each manufacturer - you'll know when this happens as you'll get an notification of mail from the manufacturer which you can access through the social menu.

One easy way to keep track is to not use/delete those mails; save them up so you can see which manufacturers you've done it for.

Clear all the Eridian Proving Grounds - the timed combat trials unlocked via Tannis's 'Games of the Ancients' side missions. Beat each one; you can retry them freely if you fall short.

Defeat Hemovorous the Invincible - the raid boss added in the Director's Cut DLC, found on Pandora (Darkthirst Dominion). She costs 500 Eridium to summon and is a serious endgame fight; bring a strong build and ideally a co-op partner.

The firing range is downstairs on the Sanctuary.

Explore the entire Stormblind Complex - the Arms Race map (Designer's Cut DLC). Visit every named zone of the map across your Arms Race runs; it doesn't have to be in one go.

Solve all the murder mysteries for Ava's podcast - the Director's Cut DLC investigation cases spread across the base-game planets. Work each case to completion; follow a checklist so you don't leave one unsolved.

Destroy 50 mysterious Eridium piles - the hidden glowing Eridium deposits added by the Director's Cut. Smash them as you find them around the worlds; cumulative to 50, so a locations guide speeds it up.

Extract 100 pieces of gear from Arms Race (Designer's Cut DLC) - reach an extraction point with loot and pull it out, cumulatively 100 items. Grinds out over repeated runs.

Listen to 25 fish jokes - the same objective as I'm Floudering Up Here (this is the platform-variant entry). Talk to the talking fish repeatedly; the easiest is the one in the Lodge, which you can save-scum to reach 25 without finding them all.
