Chants of Sennaar
Achievement guide · roadmap · tracker
Chants of Sennaar is a gorgeous puzzle-adventure about deciphering lost languages. You climb a Babel-like tower whose peoples - Devotees, Warriors, Bards, Alchemists and more - each speak a script you can't read, and you rebuild meaning glyph by glyph, matching symbols to context in a notebook until whole cultures open up to you. About 8-12 hours.
The story achievements track your climb through the tower's regions (Abbey, Frontier, Garden, Galleries, Exile) and the language work itself - validating half then all of the glyphs, rebuilding the links between peoples, activating every terminal. The two endings, "I did it" (normal) and "In this together" (the true ending, after freeing all the exiles and rebuilding every link), are mutually exclusive in one run, so full completion needs two. Most hidden ones are little vignettes you see by returning somewhere just after you rebuild a link between two peoples - do each revisit promptly, since links can't be un-made. There's a Zelda nod and a pair of Garden mini-games too.
