Oxenfree
Achievement guide · roadmap · tracker
Oxenfree is a single-player graphic adventure game played from a 2.5D perspective, with the player controlling a teenager named Alex. Its central mechanic is a "walk and talk" system, where dialogue appears as speech bubbles and the player chooses responses in real time while still moving and exploring, shaping relationships with the other characters. Puzzles are solved largely by tuning a handheld radio to specific frequencies or adjusting tape recorders. The game has no fail state, and the player's choices lead to one of several possible endings. It was followed by a sequel, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals.

Oxenfree is Night School Studio's supernatural teen mystery: five friends spend a night on an abandoned island, and a radio-tuning experiment tears open a ghostly rift. A walk-and-talk narrative adventure driven entirely by branching, overlapping dialogue - what you say, and when you interrupt, shapes who lives, who stays friends, and how it ends.
Full completion takes about three playthroughs, because several achievements are mutually exclusive choices (get Ren and Nona together vs keep them apart; play the whole game silent vs antagonise everyone) and there are different endings. Two collectible runs stack on any playthrough: the 13 Adler letters (Maggie's letters, which only start appearing once you reach Main Street) and the 12 hidden anomalies (little stacks of rocks). It's a very describable narrative game - most achievements are one specific dialogue choice or a marked location.
It's A Me
UncommonJumped the crazy chasm in the woods.
In the woods, take the risky jump across the chasm rather than the safe route.
"This House is Clear"
UncommonCompleted the story.
Finish any full playthrough.
New Beginnings
RareJonas is your new step-brother.
Make the dialogue choices that keep and affirm Jonas as your new step-brother.
Matchmaker
RareGot Ren and Nona to date.
Make the choices that push Ren and Nona together so they date. Conflicts with the "keep them apart" achievement, so it needs a separate playthrough.
Renjamin Spanklin
RareSlapped Ren in the face.
On the beach, call Ren out about liking Nona and choose to slap him.
Adler Letters, Pt. 1
RareCollected 4 of Maggie's letters.
Collect 4 of the 13 Adler letters. Letters only start appearing once you reach Main Street, so begin looking after that.
You'd Just End Up Hating Each Other.
RareKept Ren and Nona from dating.
Steer the Ren and Nona dialogue so they do not end up dating (conflicts with Matchmaker - not obtainable in the same playthrough).
Thicker than Water
LegendaryBrought Michael back from the dead.
An ending choice - make the decisions that bring Michael back from the dead. Conflicts with the other ending variants, so it takes its own playthrough.
Adler Letters, Pt. 2
LegendaryCollected 8 of Maggie's letters.
Collect 8 of the 13 Adler letters.
Adler Letters, Pt. 3
LegendaryCollected all of Maggie's letters.
Collect all 13 Adler letters. Follow a collectible route so you don't miss any - they begin at Main Street.
Ghost Stories
LegendaryFound all of the hidden anomalies.
Find all 12 hidden anomalies (each marked by a small stack of rocks) across the island.
I'm the Firestarter
LegendaryMade enemies with all of your friends.
Deliberately antagonise every friend in dialogue so you end on bad terms with all of them. Opposes the friendly / silent run, so you can't also get The Strong, Silent Type in the same playthrough.
The Strong, Silent Type
LegendaryPlayed the whole game without saying anything.
Complete an entire playthrough without ever selecting a dialogue response - stay silent throughout. Conflicts with I'm the Firestarter (which needs you to antagonise via dialogue).
