Fixes to various styles in dark mode. Improved performance of editor eligibility check - which fixes errors for users with crazy achievements (e.g. >200,000 achievements unlocked). Added display of how many achievements were unlocked on the 'view profile' page.
Yeah, dark mode! Enable it in your profile. Be dark. Be happy.
Also increased profile/ownership/progress sync speed - roughly 2x faster now, although there's more to go in future updates.
Fixed background job processing queue being reset/emptied whenever the site is updated to a new version - this should prevent occasional cases where profile updates end up not fully completing.
Added some protections to retain page performance for games with >2,000 achievements. Sigh.
Added display of the author(s) for each guide. Added a rudimentary public profile page for users, which also lists the guides they contributed to (max 20 shown). Improve the login call-to-action for anonymous users on game pages.
In this update, some better handling around how base game vs DLC achievements are displayed; now these are listed separately above the achievement filter options, with a donut chart indicating progress on the achievements in that area - green and struck through when complete. This should make it easier to track progress where a game is broken down into different areas; be it by base game vs DLCs - or Campaign vs Horde/Skirmish modes.
Also increased timeouts on Xbox profile sync calls - it looks like Covid-19 makes these things a bit slower so some profile updates were timing out repeatedly. This should be more reliable now... (but, if you were waiting on a sync before - head back to your profile and hit Resync to have it retry)
Fixed broken sign-in links on the game pages. Doh!
Improvements to guide editing - particularly with 'chapters', and checklists inside achievements (e.g. "kill every monster type": skag / boar / rhino / megamonster).
Fixed cases where achievement name/description fields would not be updated when resyncing a title after its initial add. This affected games like Borderlands 3 where DLC achievements get added with placeholder names then later updated on the DLC's release.
Overhauled the logged-in game guide view and guide editing features:
For the next update, we're expecting to bring 'checklists' back; so for achievements like "discover all the biomes" you can tick off each one as you do/discover/kill it and then you can easily see which ones are left to do!.
Acheev is now an installable app. If you're using a supported browser (e.g. Chrome, Edge, mobile) then your browser should present an option to 'install' Acheev.
In the interests of performance, removed the search/sort/filter options on guide pages unless the user is signed in. this makes the site a bit faster for new/casual users.
Updated icons/favicon and site style/colours.
Fixed news items being sorted into the wrong (random!) order - causing the homepage to show an out of date article as the latest, when in fact it wasn't.
A smaller update of various quality-of-life improvements:
Added a "hide unmissable story achievements" checkbox to the game view; because you're going to get these anyway so the guide is cleaner/easier if they're just hidden!
This update brings the following enhancements and changes:
If your linked accounts total at least 250 earned achievements you can now enable Editor status in their profile.
Once enabled, guide editing options are available on any game you own; allowing the edit of game intro & properties and the flags & guide text against each achievement.
Please consider this a very early v1/MVP/beta of guide editing - with much more to come (e.g. WYSIWYG, bulk editing, easy hyperlinks from one achievement's guide to another, etc).
All edits are logged. Malicious or abusive guide content will be removed and result in editor access being revoked. Please read the docs first. Reach out on Discord or to me direct on any game network (name = 'shivars') if you have questions/difficulties.
Hi, a new version of Acheev has been deployed with the following changes:
