Inscryption is Daniel Mullins' genre-bending horror card game - it starts as a deckbuilding roguelike played across a candlelit table from a shadowy captor, then keeps tearing down its own frame. It runs across three acts - Act 1 (Leshy's cabin, the deckbuilder-escape-room from the trailers), Act 2 (a retro 8-bit overworld of four elemental temples) and Act 3 (P03's robotic Botopia factory) - plus a free post-game roguelike, Kaycee's Mod. Every achievement name is a nod to a Magic: The Gathering card.
Reckon 25-40 hours for 100%, low-to-moderate difficulty. Around 30 of the 40 are story beats that unlock as you play the ~15-20 hour campaign - you can't really avoid them. The real work is a handful of optional in-act feats, and the Kaycee's Mod grind: the four cumulative challenge-level clears Dubious Challenge -

Collective Effort (collect every card) is the single biggest one - it must be done in Act 2 before you advance. Play the campaign blind but keep a checklist, mop each feat up within its act, then settle into Kaycee's Mod for the challenge ladder.
Blood Artist
CommonCreate your first Deathcard.
Act 1. On your first death, Leshy has you build a custom Deathcard from your fallen character. Forced the first time you lose a run, so it comes very early.
Miner's Bane
CommonDefeat The Prospector.
Act 1. Defeat the Prospector, the first cabin mini-boss - on the critical path.
Innocuous Insect
CommonFree a Stinkbug from the safe.
Act 1. Solve the cabin safe puzzle (the combination comes from the escape-room clues) to release a Stinkbug. Part of the required Act 1 progression.
Grizzled Angler
CommonDefeat The Angler.
Act 1. Defeat the Angler, the second cabin boss (the fishing-hook fight) - this also unlocks the Fish Hook used for Role Reversal.
Uncage the Menagerie
CommonFree the Wolf Statue from its cage.
Act 1. Work through the cabin puzzles to get the Caged Wolf card, then reduce it to zero health in a battle to free the wolf. Progression-gated.
Face to Face
CommonDefeat The Trapper and The Trader.
Act 1. Defeat the Trapper/Trader, the third cabin boss - a two-phase fight where he flips from Trapper to Trader. Required to reach the Act 1 finale.
Ancestral Vision
CommonFill your empty socket with something magical.
Act 1, second phase. After first beating Leshy you get free run of the cabin; solve the puzzles to place a magical eye in your empty socket. Needed to progress toward the true ending.
Reborn Hope
CommonFind a spare film roll.
Act 1, second phase. After gaining the magical eye, solve the cuckoo-clock puzzle to get a spare film roll for the camera. Required to finish Act 1.
Enduring Victory
CommonDefeat Leshy.
Act 1. Win the climactic card battle against Leshy himself - the conclusion of Act 1.
Renewal
CommonStart a new game.
Act 1 to Act 2. Unlocks when Act 1 ends and the game "restarts" into the 8-bit overworld. Story-forced.
Squirrel Wrangler
CommonWin a battle with damage from Squirrels.
Act 1 (optional - do it before finishing Act 1). Land a killing blow with Squirrel damage: put a damage sigil on the Squirrel Totem, give a Squirrel the Leader sigil, or use the Amalgam (which counts as every creature).
Avenging Druid
CommonComplete the Temple of Beasts.
Act 2. Complete Leshy's Temple of Beasts - one of the four temples on the main path.
Doomed Necromancer
CommonComplete the Temple of the Dead.
Act 2. Complete Grimora's Temple of the Dead (also where you reach the Bonelord basement for Dark Offering).
Accomplished Automaton
CommonComplete the Temple of Technology.
Act 2. Complete P03's Temple of Technology.
Wizard Mentor
CommonComplete the Temple of Magicks.
Act 2. Complete Magnificus' Temple of Magicks - its compendium also helps track cards you're missing for Collective Effort.
Balance of Power
CommonAllow P03 to gain control of Inscryption.
Act 2 to Act 3. At the end of Act 2 the story hands control to P03, launching Act 3. Story-forced.

Essence Capture

Natural Connection

Murder

Act 3 (late). A forced story cutscene near the end of Act 3 where P03 is killed.
Dramatic Finale

Gruesome Encore
UncommonAllow The Mycologists to experiment on a creature that is already itself an experiment.
Act 1 (optional, Act 1 only). Visit the Mycologists twice in one run with three copies of the same card (Pack Rat works well). Let them merge a card, then merge the already-merged result again.
Rookie Mistake
UncommonMake 10 misplays in a single Kaycee's Mod run.
Kaycee's Mod (post-game). Deliberately make 10 blunders (attacking into nothing, wasting plays) in a single run. Easy to force on purpose.
Dubious Challenge
UncommonClear Challenge Level 1 in Kaycee's Mod.
Kaycee's Mod. Win a run with a full Challenge-Point bar for the first time - the first rung of the challenge ladder.
Role Reversal
UncommonSteal back one of your creatures from The Angler.
Act 1 (optional, Act 1 only). Needs the Fish Hook (from beating the Angler on a prior run). When the Angler - or Leshy in the final fight - hooks one of your cards away, use the Fish Hook to steal it back.
Forgotten Lore
UncommonReceive all 5 cards from The Trader in P03's factory.
Act 3 (optional, Act 3 only). Give the Trader all five Holo Pelts to receive five Tarot cards - four pelts come from trapping rabbits around Botopia, one from the central shop. The Trader's door opens late in the act.
Dark Offering
RareMake an offering to The Bonelord.
Act 2 (optional, Act 2 only). The Bonelord sits in the basement of the Temple of the Dead. Play both Broken Obol cards next to each other to form the Ancient Obol, then offer it to him.
Grim Bounty
RareDestroy a Level 3 Bounty Hunter card.
Act 3 (optional, Act 3 only). Winning fights without dying raises your "wanted" stars; at three stars, Level-3 Bounty Hunters appear. Farm stars (clear or leave areas so bots respawn), then destroy - not just survive - a Level-3 Bounty Hunter card.
Taunting Challenge

Kaycee's Mod. Clear a full-CP run for the fourth time - the second rung.
Roar of Challenge

Collective Effort
RareCollect every card in the Original Inscryption.
Act 2 (optional grind - the BIGGEST trap). Collect every card in the original Inscryption: farm Card Packs by winning fights without advancing to Act 3, and spend Foils on missing cards (the Temple of Magicks compendium shows what you lack). A few (Drowned Soul, Bone Lord's Horn, Great Kraken) need specific acquisition. Must be finished in Act 2 - moving to Act 3 locks it out for good.
Pulling Teeth
RarePull out 32 teeth in Kaycee's Mod.
Kaycee's Mod (grind). Pull a cumulative 32 teeth across any number of runs - accrues naturally as you play.
Rise to the Challenge
RareClear Challenge Level 12 in Kaycee's Mod.
Kaycee's Mod. Clear a full-CP run for the twelfth time - the top rung of the standard ladder and the main grind target.
Devil's Play
RareAttack for over 666 damage in the Original Inscryption
Act 2 (optional - effectively Act 2). Deal over 666 damage in a single attack (exactly 666 counts). Easiest with two Energy Conduits for infinite Energy plus an Emerald Mox to replay and buff a Stim Mage endlessly. It's about 11 minutes of clicking, so an autoclicker helps.
Start // Finish
LegendaryComplete a run with every Starter Deck in Kaycee's Mod.
Kaycee's Mod (grind). Win at least one run with each unlockable Starter Deck (one at a time). The challenge rating can be zero and still count.
Agonizing Remorse
LegendaryDon't empty the Recycling Bin.
Act 3, the Archivist fight (optional). On PC: if the Captive File card dies during the fight, a text file is written to your save folder asking you to delete it - delete or move it, then win. On console: play the Captive File, then destroy it with the Hammer.
Bad Moon
LegendaryDefeat Leshy in Kaycee's Mod without destroying The Moon.
Kaycee's Mod. In the Leshy boss fight, strip the Moon's sigils with Magickal Bleach, then kill Leshy with an Airborne card (or the Harpie's Birdleg Fan) so you win without smashing the Moon.
Master Trinketeer
LegendaryUnlock all 3 items from the oil painting.
Kaycee's Mod (grind). Unlock all three trinket items granted by the cabin's oil painting by meeting each one's condition across runs.
Skull Storm
LegendaryComplete a run with every Challenge active in Kaycee's Mod.
Kaycee's Mod (hardest). Win a full run with every challenge modifier switched on at once - the maximum-difficulty clear and the toughest achievement in the game.
