Slime Rancher

Achievement guide · roadmap · tracker

Slime Rancher is a charming, first-person, sandbox experience. Play as Beatrix LeBeau: a plucky, young rancher who sets out for a life a thousand light years away from Earth on the 'Far, Far Range.' Each day will present new challenges and risky opportunities as you attempt to amass a great fortune in the business of slime ranching. Collect colorful slimes, grow crops, harvest resources, and explore the untamed wilds through the mastery of your all-purpose vacpack.

Shooter Simulator Strategy Adventure Indie Action Science fiction Open world
2017 ★ 76 62 achievements Guide 99%

A cheerful, wonderfully chill first-person ranching game - explore the Far, Far Range with your vacpack, wrangle adorable slimes, feed them, and collect their plorts to sell for newbucks and expand your ranch. Deceptively deep and very moreish. The achievement list is a lovely tour: discover every zone, build a thriving ranch, master Slime Science and mop up a few cheeky challenges.

Nothing is missable - it's an open sandbox, so you can always go back for anything. Single-player throughout, and most achievements just fall out of playing Adventure Mode and building your ranch up.

The long-haul ones are the plort-sale and newbucks milestones (Plort TycoonPlort Tycoon, Upper CrustUpper Crust), completing the Pro StylePro Style (Slimepedia), and the score-attack modes - 5-Day Plortmaster (5-Day Rush) and Rush PlortmasterRush Plortmaster (Rush Mode). A couple (You... Monster!You... Monster!, CarouselCarousel) are purely optional, jokey incineration gags. See each note for specifics.

ObjectiveOptional

Let a tabby slime headbutt you right on the nose

GrindOptional

Sell 100 plorts at the Plort Market

Catch!

Catch!

ObjectiveOptional

Shoot food into an airborne slime's mouth

Vac up some food, then shoot it into a slime while it's mid-jump so it catches it in its mouth. Slimes bounce constantly - line up on one and fire the food as it's airborne. A few tries and one gulps it out of the air.

Jelly Belly Burst

Jelly Belly Burst

ObjectiveOptional

Burst a gordo slime

Burst a Gordo - the giant, immobile bloated slimes that block paths. Feed it its favourite food over and over until it's stuffed and pops, showering slimes and plorts (and often opening a path or dropping a slime key). Your first Gordo does it.

Be knocked out before 10 AM. You get knocked out (and warped home) when your health is drained - usually by a Tarr or a nasty fall. Head somewhere dangerous (a Tarr outbreak, or the Slime Sea) early in the morning and let yourself get downed before 10 AM. A quick, silly one.

Mine, All Mine

Mine, All Mine

Tasty!

GrindOptional

Feed 50 slimes on the Ranch their favorite food

Feed 50 slimes on the Ranch their favourite food, cumulative. Each slime type has a favourite (check the Slimepedia) - feeding it their favourite makes them produce two plorts instead of one. Just make a habit of feeding favourites in your corrals and you'll clock 50 quickly.

One Person at a Time

One Person at a Time

ObjectiveOptional

Join the 7Zee Rewards Club

Jump into a corral containing at least 40 slimes. Cram a corral full - pile in 40+ slimes (easy with small slimes like pinks or phosphors) - then hop the wall into the pit. A bouncy sea of slimes. Watch you don't create largos/tarr if mixing types.

A Quick Newbuck

A Quick Newbuck

ObjectiveOptional

Earn 5,000 newbucks in a single day

Earn 5,000 newbucks in a single day (from plort sales that day). Stockpile a big batch of plorts (especially a high-value type when the market price spikes) and sell them all on one day to clear 5k in a single session. A well-stocked ranch does this easily once you've a few corrals going.

Buck Buck Bagu-

Buck Buck Bagu-

GrindOptional

Feed 100 chickens to slimes on the Ranch

Feed 100 chickens (hens/roostros/chickadoos) to slimes on the Ranch, cumulative. Omnivorous

Omnivorous

ObjectiveOptional

You'll want a mature ranch: several corrals of high-value largos (fed favourites for double plorts), ideally selling premium plorts (like quantum, boom or gold) when the market spikes. Hoard rather than spend and 100k comes with a well-run operation.

While You Were Away

While You Were Away

Risky Business

Risky Business

ObjectiveOptional

Have at least 3 different types of largos in the same corral

Have at least 3 different types of largos in the same corral. A largo is a slime that's eaten another type's plort (making a two-type hybrid). Make three different largo types (e.g. pink-rock, pink-tabby, pink-phosphor) and keep them together in one corral. Careful: a largo eating a third type's plort becomes a Tarr, so don't let them eat each other's plorts - keep the corral clear of loose plorts.

Fully Loaded

Fully Loaded

ObjectiveOptional

Have a maximally upgraded corral, coop, and silo on the Ranch

Have a maximally upgraded corral, coop, and silo on the Ranch (all three fully upgraded at once). Pour newbucks into one corral, one coop and one silo until each has every available upgrade bought. A money sink, but straightforward once you're wealthy.

That Only Works in Comic Books

ObjectiveOptional

Stand inside a rad aura for at least 15 seconds

Stand inside a rad slime's radiation aura for at least 15 seconds. Rad slimes emit a green radioactive aura that damages you - find one (or a rad largo) and simply stand in its glowing field for a full 15 seconds, tanking the damage (heal up first, and step out before you're knocked out). The Indigo Quarry is full of them.

Once Bitten, Twice... Bitten

Once Bitten, Twice... Bitten

ObjectiveOptional

Grab a fresh Tarr and hold tight - just don't let it touch you.

Bea the Builder

Bea the Builder

GrindOptional

Fabricate 35 Slime Science gadgets

Six Pack

Six Pack

ObjectiveOptional

Have at least 6 different types of slimes in the same corral

Have at least 6 different types of slimes in the same corral. Round up six distinct base slime types (keep them as pure slimes, not largos, to avoid Tarr) and pen them together. Small, non-largo slimes are easiest - just gather six kinds into one corral at once.

Carousel

Carousel

ObjectiveOptional

Incinerate an elder chicken

Incinerate an elder chicken (an Elder Hen - the big grown chickens). Same gag as You... Monster!You... Monster! but with a fully-grown chicken: drop an Elder Hen into an Incinerator gadget. Cheeky achievement, no real purpose beyond the laugh.

Diversification

Diversification

ObjectiveOptional

Have at least 10 types of largos on the Ranch

Have at least 10 types of largos on the Ranch (across your corrals, at once). A largo = a slime that's eaten a second type's plort. Deliberately make ten different largo combinations (pink-X is the easy base) and keep them all penned somewhere on the ranch simultaneously. A bit of plort-feeding bookkeeping, but a good plort-income setup too.

Mint in Box

Mint in Box

ObjectiveOptional

Purchase at least 10 different types of slime toys

Purchase at least 10 different types of slime toys. Slime toys are decorative playthings you buy (from the shop / 7Zee) and place in corrals to keep slimes happy. Buy ten distinct toy types - just work through the toy catalogue picking one of each you don't own.

Controlling the Chaos

Controlling the Chaos

ObjectiveOptional

Constrain more than 15 slimes in your vac stream at once while on the range

Constrain more than 15 slimes in your vac stream at once while out on the Range. Upgrade your vacpack's tank/air capacity, then find a big cluster of slimes and hold the vac to juggle 15+ of them in your air stream simultaneously (without sucking them in). A packed group of small wild slimes is the place to do it.

Never Stop Creating

Never Stop Creating

GrindOptional

Fabricate 100 Slime Science gadgets

Fabricate 100 Slime Science gadgets, cumulative - the big brother of Bea the BuilderBea the Builder. Keep crafting at the Fabricator across your save; gadgets are a newbuck-and-resource sink, so this comes over a long, well-developed ranch. Craft freely (drones, extractors, decor) and 100 accrues.

Hat Trick

Hat Trick

ObjectiveOptional

Obtain at least 3 gold plorts from a single gold slime

Obtain at least 3 gold plorts from a single gold slime. Gold slimes are the rare, skittish golden slimes that flee and vanish - while one's around, shoot it with food to make it drop gold plorts, and get three or more out of the same gold slime before it disappears. Corner one and feed it fast; the more food you land, the more gold plorts it coughs up.

The Hunter Has Become... The Other Thing

ObjectiveOptional

Snare a Hunter Gordo

Snare a Hunter Gordo. Hunter slimes (the stealthy jungle carnivores) have a Gordo in the Moss Blanket - feed it its favourite (meat) until it bursts. Fill a pond on your ranch with at least 5 different types of slimes. Ponds hold puddle slimes normally, but you can drop other slimes in too - gather five distinct slime types and place them all in a single pond plot at once. Best of the Worst

Best of the Worst

ObjectiveOptional

Place a tarr on the #1 Slime Stage

Place a Tarr on the #1 Slime Stage. The Slime Stages are decorative display plots that rank your slimes - put a Tarr (the corrupting black slime) onto the top-ranked stage.
