Terraria
Achievement guide · roadmap · tracker
One of the greatest games ever made, and a colossal 100% - the list spans the classic progression, the console-era mega-collections and the newest secret-seed novelties, so expect a few hundred hours across several worlds. The good news: nothing is permanently missable. Worlds are disposable, and several achievements actively require spares - both world evils need a Corruption and a Crimson world (Worm Fodder,
Mastermind), and the secret-seed set (
A Rare Realm,
Queen Machine,
Boulder Lord,
My People Need Me,
Fear The Sun,
Extra Life) is best served by one getfixedboi playground world plus a couple of specific seeds.
The natural shape: take a main world all the way to the Moon Lord (Champion of Terraria), hoovering up the boss, event and crafting achievements as they come - most of the list falls out of an ordinary completionist playthrough. What's left is the long tail:
Supreme Helper Minion! (200 angler quests),
Book Worm (the full bestiary),
And Good Riddance! (total purification),
Gelatin World Tour, and the console-era collections A Knight in Shining Armors and Pet Hoarder. None of it is hard; all of it is long.
Multiplayer is needed for exactly one achievement - Grave Mistake - so keep one willing friend and one tombstone on standby. See each achievement's notes for the specifics.
Timber!!
CommonChop down your first tree.
Swing an axe at any tree until it falls. You'll do this in your first minute alive - wood is the foundation of everything.
You Can Do It!
CommonSurvive your character's first full night.
Survive from dusk (7:30pm) to dawn (4:30am) on day one. Dig a hovel or wall yourself in with wood before the zombies arrive and you're safe - fighting is optional, hiding is fine.
Ooo! Shiny!
CommonMine your first nugget of ore with a pickaxe.
Swing your copper pickaxe at any ore vein - copper, tin, iron, whatever surfaces near spawn. Pops on the first block.
No Hobo
CommonBuild a house suitable enough for your first town NPC, such as the guide, to move into.
A valid house needs: walls (background walls too), a door, a table, a chair and a torch, at least 6x10-ish in size. Build that near spawn and the Guide moves in - the housing menu's query tool tells you if a room qualifies. This is the template you'll repeat dozens of times for Real Estate Agent.
Matching Attire
CommonEquip armor in all three armor slots: head, chest, and feet.
Head, chest and feet, any armour: a full wood or cactus set from your first night's crafting does it. Mining helmet + tin chest + whatever boots also counts - the set doesn't need to match, despite the name.
Stop! Hammer Time!
CommonObtain your first hammer via crafting or otherwise.
Craft a wooden hammer from wood at a workbench, or grab any hammer from a chest. You'll want one anyway - hammers remove background walls and reshape blocks, and a much holier one matters later (Begone, Evil!).
I Am Loot!
CommonDiscover a golden chest underground and take a peek at its contents.
Golden chests sit in the underground and cavern layers and in every cave system's dead ends - open any one and it pops. The loot inside (magic mirrors, cloud bottles, hermes boots) is the actual reason to hunt them.
Benched
CommonCraft your first work bench.
Ten wood, hands only, and you've a work bench - the first thing you'll craft in any world, since almost everything else needs one.
Heart Breaker
CommonDiscover and smash your first heart crystal underground.
Heart Crystals are the glowing red hearts embedded in the underground - smash one with a pickaxe and use the Life Crystal it drops for +20 max health. You'll be smashing these all game up to 400 HP (Topped Off), so this comes within your first proper mining trip.
Watch Your Step!
CommonBecome a victim to a nasty underground trap.
Take a dart to the face, step on a pressure-plate boulder, or find a detonator the hard way - any underground trap counts, and the caverns will oblige you sooner rather than later. If you're forcing it, find a dart trap (they line cave corridors), stand in front and wait. Wear the bruise with pride.
Star Power
CommonCraft a mana crystal out of fallen stars, and consume it.
Collect three Fallen Stars overnight (they twinkle where they land on the surface - grab them before dawn or they vanish), craft them into a Mana Crystal, and use it for +20 max mana. Repeat to 200 for Topped Off.
Heavy Metal
CommonObtain an anvil made from iron or lead.
Smelt iron or lead ore into five bars at a furnace, craft the anvil at a work bench, and place it. The anvil unlocks the whole early metal-working tree, so it's day-two business as usual.
Eye on You
CommonDefeat the Eye of Cthulhu, an ocular menace who only appears at night.
Your first real boss. It can turn up on its own once you have 200+ HP, or summon it at night with a Suspicious Looking Eye (6 lenses at a Demon/Crimson altar). Preparation beats gear: a long flat arena with campfires, a decent bow or a flail, and keep moving horizontally - phase two charges in straight lines, so sidestep and punish. Drops the ore you want for your next armour tier.
Like a Boss
CommonObtain a boss-summoning item.
Craft or loot any boss summon - the classic first is the Suspicious Looking Eye (6 Lenses from Demon Eyes, crafted at a Demon or Crimson altar in the evil biome). Simply having it in your inventory pops this; using it is Eye on You's problem.
Bloodbath
CommonSurvive a blood moon, a nocturnal event where the rivers run red and monsters swarm aplenty.
Blood Moons happen randomly at night (about 1-in-9 once anyone has 120+ HP) - the screen goes red and zombies can open doors. Surviving is the whole assignment: wall yourself in, block the door with a table, and let dawn come. Or fight on the doorstep for the unique drops - the event is also the home of Til Death... and, in hardmode, the nasty fishing enemies like
Don't Dread on Me.
Hold on Tight!
CommonEquip your first grappling hook.
The basic Grappling Hook needs a Hook (a drop from cave skeletons and piranhas) plus three chains from iron/lead bars. Gem hooks (15 of one gem type, e.g. amethyst) are the reliable alternative if the drop sulks. Equip it and your caving life improves forever - it's the single most important early mobility item.
Smashing, Poppet!
CommonUsing explosives or your trusty hammer, smash a Shadow Orb or Crimson Heart in the evil parts of your world.
Shadow Orbs (Corruption) and Crimson Hearts (Crimson) sit at the bottom of the evil biome's chasms, behind ebonstone/crimstone you'll need bombs or a nightmare-tier pickaxe to reach. Smash one with a hammer or explosives for loot (Musket or Undertaker among it); every third smashed summons the biome's boss, and smashing also rolls the meteor event. One smash pops this.
Head in the Clouds
CommonEquip a pair of wings.
Wings are hardmode: most craft from 20 Souls of Flight (Wyverns, in the sky) plus a rarity item - Angel Wings want 10 Feathers from Harpies, Demon Wings 10 Souls of Night. The Witch Doctor also sells Leaf Wings. Any pair equipped in an accessory slot pops it, and you'll never take them off again.
It's Getting Hot in Here
CommonSpelunk deep enough to reach the molten underworld.
Dig down until the stone gives way to ash and lava lakes - the Underworld spans the bottom of every world. A hellevator (straight vertical shaft) is the traditional approach; bring obsidian skin potions or build carefully, because the lava is not decorative. You'll be back for Still Hungry, so leave a rope or teleporter.
Pretty in Pink
CommonKill pinky.
Pinky is the rare tiny pink slime that spawns on the surface among ordinary slimes - small, fast, and worth a full gold coin. Kill one when you see it; there's no way to force the spawn, but over a playthrough you'll meet several. It also counts towards Gelatin World Tour.
Vehicular Manslaughter
CommonDefeat an enemy by running it over with a minecart.
Build a short minecart track through a mob-heavy spot (or your farm's spawn area), get up to speed and plough into something soft - slimes and zombies die to a good ram. Minecart tracks craft from iron/lead and wood; any kill while riding pops it.
Fashion Statement
CommonEquip armor or vanity clothing in all three social slots.
The three social slots sit next to your armour slots - drop any vanity clothing or spare armour into head, shirt and pants social slots and it pops. A cheap vanity set from the Clothier (or the Familiar set) does it in one shopping trip.
Jeepers Creepers
CommonStumble into a spider cavern in the underground.
Spider caves are the web-choked pockets of the cavern layer - background walls of dense web, black recluses lurking. Walk in (carefully) and it pops. Worth remembering the location: recluses drop spider fangs for the excellent early summoner kit.
Survivor
CommonYou survived the first night!
Survive from dusk (7:30pm) to dawn (4:30am) on day one. Dig a hovel or wall yourself in with wood before the zombies arrive and you're safe - fighting is optional, hiding is fine.
Throwing Lines
CommonThrow a yoyo.
Buy or find any yoyo and give it a throw. Easiest source: a Wooden Yoyo crafts from wood and cobwebs at a work bench; the Travelling Merchant and various chests also carry them. One flick, done.
Goblin Punter
CommonTriumph over a goblin invasion, a ragtag regiment of crude, barbaric, pointy-eared warriors and their shadowflame sorcerers.
The Goblin Army invades on its own once you've smashed a Shadow Orb/Crimson Heart (and have 200+ HP), or you can trigger it by using a Goblin Battle Standard (10 Spiky Balls the goblins drop + tattered cloth). Fight it at your base with a bit of choke-point architecture and lava moats if you're fancy. Beating it frees the Goblin Tinkerer to be found underground - reforging and the Tinkerer's Workshop are the real prize.
Marathon Medalist
CommonTravel a total of 26.2 miles on foot.
A marathon's worth of walking - 26.2 miles / 42km, cumulative, on foot. It tracks itself; hermes-boot running counts, flying doesn't. On any completionist playthrough this pops somewhere in hardmode without you noticing. If you're farming it deliberately: an asphalt runway and something heavy on the movement key while you make a cup of tea.
Slippery Shinobi
CommonDefeat King Slime, the lord of all things slimy.
King Slime spawns from a Slime Crown (20 gel + a gold/platinum crown at a Demon altar), during Slime Rain (Sticky Situation), or very rarely in the outer thirds of the map. He's a pushover with any ranged weapon: stand on a platform and shoot down, mind the spawned slimes, and mop up. Drops the Slimy Saddle - a genuinely useful early mount for
The Cavalry.
Boned
CommonDefeat Skeletron, the cursed guardian of the dungeon.
Talk to the Old Man at the dungeon entrance at night and choose Curse to summon Skeletron. Take the hands out first to open up the head, then circle-strafe it - it only hurts while spinning, and a long horizontal arena at the dungeon mouth helps enormously. Win and the dungeon opens; lose and he'll happily re-summon tomorrow night. Do NOT stroll into the dungeon early unless you enjoy Dungeon Guardian physics lessons.
Lucky Break
CommonSurvive a long fall with just a sliver of health remaining.
Fall far enough to nearly die, but not quite - the achievement wants you surviving on a sliver. The controlled way: work out your max survivable height with a Lucky Horseshoe not equipped, at full health, and jump from a platform tower into flat ground; tune the height until you land single-digit. Slightly less scientific: it tends to pop by accident around the time you get cocky with wings off. A bed nearby saves the walk when the maths goes wrong.
The Cavalry
CommonEquip a mount.
Equip any mount item. The Slimy Saddle from King Slime (Slippery Shinobi) is usually the first; the bunny/bee mounts from various sources count equally. Slot it in the mount equipment slot and summon it - pop.
Into Orbit
CommonYou can only go down from here!
Reach Space - the very top of the map, where gravity weakens and harpies give way to nothing at all. A tower of platforms, a stack of rope, or (in hardmode) just wings pointed upward. The background stars and the depth meter reading 'Space' tell you you've arrived.
Where's My Honey?
CommonDiscover a large bee's hive deep in the jungle.
Bee hives are the honey-filled pockets deep in the Underground Jungle - big amber chambers with a larva sitting on a pedestal. Walking into one pops it. Don't break the Larva unless you're ready for Sting Operation; do grab bottled honey and hive blocks while you're there.
Dungeon Heist
CommonSteal a key from the dungeon's undead denizens, and unlock one of their precious golden chests.
Post-Skeletron, dungeon enemies rarely drop a Golden Key; use it on any of the locked Golden Chests scattered through the dungeon (Muramasa, Cobalt Shield, Magic Missile and friends inside). Kill things near a locked chest until a key lands, unlock, pop. In 1.4 keys also come from dungeon slabs' pots and vases, so it's rarely a long wait.
Quiet Neighborhood
CommonEnter a misty graveyard filled with the surly dead.
Place five or six Tombstones close together and the area becomes a Graveyard biome - mist rolls in, the music changes, pop. Tombstones drop where players die, or craft/buy them; you'll want a graveyard anyway for its unique crafting recipes and the ecto mist vendors' extras, so build one at base and keep it.
Sting Operation
CommonDefeat the Queen Bee, the matriarch of the jungle hives.
Summon Queen Bee by breaking the Larva in a jungle bee hive (Where's My Honey?) or with an Abeemination. Fight her in the hive's honey chamber or a prepared jungle arena: she alternates charges with stinger volleys, so strafe the charges and keep damage up through the hover phase. The Bee Gun, Bee Keeper and Honey Comb she drops carry an early-game character nicely - and you'll want the gun for
Not the Bees!.
Bulldozer
CommonDestroy a total of 10,000 tiles.
10,000 tiles mined, cumulative - a stat, not a task. Any hellevator alone is a couple of thousand; normal play buries this long before hardmode. Nothing to plan.
Still Hungry
CommonDefeat the Wall of Flesh, the master and core of the world who arises after a great, burning sacrifice.
The point of no return for your world's innocence. Summon the Wall of Flesh by tossing a Guide Voodoo Doll (Voodoo Demon drop) into Underworld lava - apologise to the Guide - then outrun a screen-wide wall while shooting it. Build a long Underworld bridge first (a few hundred blocks of platforms/ash), bring a piercing weapon for the Hungry, and a Hellfire-arrow bow or the Bee's Knees does the damage. Victory drops a Pwnhammer and flips the world to hardmode (It's Hard!) - there's no going back, but nothing is lost either.
It's Hard!
CommonUnleash the ancient spirits of light and darkness across your world, enabling much stronger foes and showering the world with dazzling treasures (and rainbows!).
Pops with the Wall of Flesh's death (Still Hungry) - hardmode arrives immediately: the Hallow and a fresh strip of evil biome cut diagonal swathes through the world, enemies toughen everywhere, and altar-smashing ore awaits (
Begone, Evil!,
Extra Shiny!). Nothing to do beyond winning that fight; everything to do afterwards.
Sticky Situation
CommonSurvive the slime rain, where gelatinous organisms fall from the sky in droves.
Slime Rain is a random daytime event - slimes fall from the sky until you've squashed enough of them (around 150), at which point King Slime himself drops in. Survive to the end (i.e. see the King off, Slippery Shinobi) and it pops. It happens on its own; just don't hide indoors when it starts.
Begone, Evil!
CommonSmash a demon or crimson altar with a powerful, holy hammer.
The Pwnhammer from the Wall of Flesh (Still Hungry) is the holy hammer in question. Take it to the Demon/Crimson altars in your evil biome and smash one - each smash blesses the world with a wave of hardmode ore (cobalt/palladium, then mythril/orichalcum, then adamantite/titanium on later smashes). Smash three for the full ore spread, then go mining for
Extra Shiny!.
Til Death...
CommonKill the groom.
The Groom is a rare zombie in a top hat who shows up during Blood Moons (Bloodbath). Kill him for the achievement (and his dapper hat). Nothing to force - fight your Blood Moons at the door and he'll turn up within a couple of them.
Extra Shiny!
CommonMine a powerful ore that has been newly blessed upon your world.
After smashing an altar (Begone, Evil!), the new hardmode ore seeds through the cavern layer - cobalt or palladium first, needing only your pre-hardmode molten pickaxe. Mine one block and it pops. Spelunker potions make the hunt painless.
Mastermind
CommonDefeat the Brain of Cthulhu, an enourmous demon brain which haunts the creeping crimson.
The Crimson's boss. Summon by smashing three Crimson Hearts (Smashing, Poppet!) or crafting a Bloody Spine (15 vertebrae at a Crimson altar). Phase one: pop the floating Creepers - piercing weapons shine; phase two: the exposed brain teleports and charges, so keep moving and keep hitting. Fight in the Crimson's own arena-sized caverns, cleared of obstructions. Crimtane + tissue samples from the fight build your next gear tier. Corruption worlds get
Worm Fodder instead - world evils are one-per-world, so the other means a second world (or a Corruption/Crimson seed trick).
Worm Fodder
CommonDefeat the Eater of Worlds, a massive worm whom dwells in the corruption.
The Corruption's boss. Summon by smashing three Shadow Orbs (Smashing, Poppet!) or crafting Worm Food (30 rotten chunks + 15 vile powder at a Demon altar). It's a segmented worm: piercing weapons (Vilethorn, jester arrows, flails) carve through multiple segments at once and trivialise it. Fight in a cleared chasm bottom. Demonite + shadow scales build your next gear tier. Crimson worlds get
Mastermind instead - world evils are one-per-world, so bagging both means a second world.
Deceiver of Fools
CommonKill a nymph.
The Lost Girl looks like a stranded NPC wandering the caverns - get close and she reveals herself as the Nymph and pounces. She's rare, cavern-layer, and hits hard early on. When you spot a lone figure underground where no NPC should be, weapon out first, chat later. The kill pops it; she also drops the Metal Detector.
There are Some Who Call Him...
CommonKill Tim.
Tim is a rare skeleton sorcerer in the cavern layer, identifiable by his wizard hat and teleport-and-fireball routine. He spawns more often for characters wearing a wizard hat themselves (the vanity Familiar Wig also reportedly helps). No reliable summon - just cave long enough and Tim finds you. Kill him for his hat.
Home Sweet Home
CommonThe Guide has moved in!
A valid house needs: walls (background walls too), a door, a table, a chair and a torch, at least 6x10-ish in size. Build that near spawn and the Guide moves in - the housing menu's query tool tells you if a room qualifies. This is the template you'll repeat dozens of times for All in the Family.
Get a Life
CommonConsume a life fruit, which grows in the thick of subterranean jungle grass.
Life Fruit grows in the Underground Jungle's grass once hardmode's mechanical bosses start falling (strictly: after any mech boss is down). It glows faintly golden - harvest with a pickaxe and eat for +5 max health, up to 500. First bite pops this; the full 20 fruits matter for Maxed Out.
Walk the Plank
CommonTriumph over a pirate invasion, a group of pillagers from the sea out for your booty... and your life!
Pirates invade randomly in hardmode, or on demand with a Pirate Map (dropped by anything in the Ocean biome during hardmode). They're a bruiser goblin army: fight at base with a choke point and something area-of-effect. The loot table is the draw - Coin Gun, Lucky Coin, Pirate Staff - though the achievement only wants the invasion beaten.
Feeling Petty
CommonDeliver headpats to the town pet.
Once a Town Pet (cat, dog or bunny - their licences come from the Zoologist as your Bestiary fills) is wandering your town, walk up and interact to give it a pat. Headpats delivered, achievement delivered.
Completely Awesome
CommonObtain a minishark.
The Arms Dealer sells the Minishark for 35 gold - he moves in once anyone in the world holds a bullet-firing gun (a Musket from Shadow Orbs or The Undertaker from Crimson Hearts does it, Smashing, Poppet!). Save up, buy, brrrt. It remains a solid sidearm all the way to its
Mecha Mayhem-era upgrade, the Megashark.
Robbing the Grave
CommonObtain a rare treasure from a difficult monster in the dungeon.
Any of the dungeon's rare drops qualifies - most reliably farmed post-Plantera, when the hardmode dungeon mobs drop their signature items (Keybrand, Magnet Sphere, Wisp in a Bottle and friends). Farm the dense dungeon corridors with a battle potion and water candle until something rare lands.
Buckets of Bolts
CommonDefeat the three nocturnal mechanical menaces: the Twins, the Destroyer, and Skeletron Prime.
All three mechanical bosses. Summons craft at a mythril/orichalcum anvil from souls and parts (they also spawn naturally at night until beaten): The Destroyer (Mechanical Worm) - a long sky bridge and piercing/AoE weapons shred its segments; The Twins (Mechanical Eye) - an asphalt or platform runway and sustained single-target fire, kill Retinazer or Spazmatism one at a time; Skeletron Prime (Mechanical Skull) - hands first or straight to the head, your call. Hallowed bars and souls from each unlock the next tier - and Drax Attax,
Mecha Mayhem and Plantera beyond.
Kill the Sun
CommonSurvive a solar eclipse, a day darker than night filled with creatures of horror.
Solar Eclipses run randomly from dawn once hardmode's under way (more common after a mech falls, and guaranteed content post-Plantera) - "A solar eclipse is happening!" and the horror-film enemies pour in all day. Survive to dusk and it pops. Fight rather than hide if you can: Mothron and friends drop Broken Hero Swords (Sword of the Hero) and other prizes.
The Great Southern Plantkill
UncommonDefeat Plantera, the overgrown monstrosity of the jungle's depths.
Post-mechs, Plantera's Bulbs (pink, glowing) grow in the Underground Jungle - smash one with a pickaxe and she wakes up angry. Carve a big arena around a bulb first (a couple of screens of open jungle with platform rows), keep moving through phase one's dashes, and mind the tentacle crown in phase two. Beating her calms the dungeon's new horrors, drops the Temple Key (Temple Raider), and graduates the world to the endgame.
Photosynthesis
UncommonMine chlorophyte, an organic ore found deep among the thickest of flora.
Chlorophyte ore grows in the Underground Jungle's mud once hardmode begins, and needs a pickaxe axe or drax (Drax Attax) - i.e. post-mechs - to mine. Spelunker potions light it up bright green. One block pops it; several stacks build the Chlorophyte and Turtle sets, so keep digging. It regrows in mud, and a small farm of mud blocks seeded with one ore quietly prints more.
Lihzahrdian Idol
UncommonDefeat Golem, the stone-faced ritualistic idol of the lihzahrd tribe.
Deep in the Jungle Temple (Temple Raider) sits the Lihzahrd Altar - use a Power Cell (temple chests, or lihzahrd drops) on it to wake Golem. He's the gentlest endgame boss: dodge the bouncing fists, unload on the head, step back when it detaches and flies. A roomy arena carved around the altar chamber removes most of the danger. His loot (Picksaw, sun-themed weapons) and the post-Golem world state make
Tin-Foil Hatter and the Cultist next.
Miner for Fire
UncommonCraft a molten pickaxe using the hottest of materials.
Twenty Hellstone Bars' worth of pickaxe: mine Hellstone in the Underworld (It's Getting Hot in Here), smelt with obsidian at a Hellforge, and craft the Molten Pickaxe at an anvil. It's the best pre-hardmode pick and the one that mines the first hardmode ores - so it's on the critical path anyway.
The Frequent Flyer
UncommonSpend over 1 gold being treated by the nurse.
Spend a cumulative gold coin on the Nurse's healing. Her fee scales with the damage healed, so a few battered visits in hardmode do it - or park by her during a boss fight and click her mid-scrap (the nurse-adjacent arena is a time-honoured tactic anyway). It tracks lifetime spend, so no need to force it.
Funkytown
UncommonBuild or encounter a glowing mushroom field above the surface.
Make a surface Glowing Mushroom biome: lay 100+ mud blocks on the surface, seed with Mushroom Grass Seeds (from cutting underground glowing-mushroom grass), and wait for the blue glow to take hold - the biome registers once enough grass and mushrooms establish. Entering it pops the achievement, and it's a prerequisite anyway for housing Truffle (It Can Talk?!).
Heliophobia
UncommonTrick a gnome into turning into stone!
Gnomes potter about at night in the forest's underground Living Tree areas and surface caves. Lure one above ground and keep it there until sunlight touches it - it petrifies into a Garden Gnome statue on the spot (grab it: placed gnomes boost luck). Block its retreat path and daybreak does the rest.
Airtime!
UncommonEnjoy the view.
Wings are hardmode: most craft from 20 Souls of Flight (Wyverns, in the sky) plus a rarity item - Angel Wings want 10 Feathers from Harpies, Demon Wings 10 Souls of Night. The Witch Doctor also sells Leaf Wings. Any pair equipped pops it - then enjoy the view, as instructed.
Topped Off
UncommonAttain maximum health and mana possible without accessories or buffs.
500 health and 200 mana, unbuffed: that's 15 Life Crystals (Heart Breaker) to 400 HP, then 20 Life Fruit (
Get a Life) to 500, plus 9 Mana Crystals (
Star Power). The fruit is the hardmode part - jungle farming after a mech falls. Everything here happens on the way to the endgame anyway.
Jolly Jamboree
UncommonWhat you're celebrating doesn't matter, just throw a party already!
Throw a party: buy a Party Center from the Party Girl, place it and switch it on - the town goes bunting-and-balloons for the day. Natural parties also occur randomly and count. Pops when the party starts. :)
Obsessive Devotion
UncommonDefeat the Ancient Cultist, fanatical leader of the dungeon coven.
After Golem, four Cultists gather at the dungeon's entrance - kill the lot and the Ancient Cultist boss appears. The fight is a dance of fireballs, ice shards and lightning; the one rule is don't hit the decoys during the ritual phase or you'll summon a Phantasm Dragon to make life worse. Hit the real one (the one that took damage) and repeat. Death starts the Lunar Events immediately (Star Destroyer), so arrive prepared.
Temple Raider
UncommonBreach the impenetrable walls of the jungle temple.
The Jungle Temple's lihzahrd-brick walls resist everything until you hold the Temple Key - a guaranteed Plantera drop (The Great Southern Plantkill). Open the door, step inside, pop. Watch the floors: the temple's spiky-ball and flame traps are the real occupants, and harvesting those traps with a high-tier pickaxe is half the value of the visit.
Hey! Listen!
UncommonEncounter a fairy.
Fairies flit about at night around the surface and in caves - the little glowing sprites that lead you toward treasure if you follow them. Fallen Log structures in the forest house them; leave the log unbroken and evening strolls will produce one soon enough. Get close and it pops. Hey! Listen!
Champion of Terraria
UncommonDefeat the Moon Lord.
The final boss, arriving one minute after the fourth pillar falls (Star Destroyer) - or on demand later via a Celestial Sigil. The fight is an endurance test against the eyes: dodge the Phantasmal Deathray sweeps, kill the hand and forehead eyes, then the chest. A long asphalt runway, a heart-lantern/campfire corridor, and the Vortex/Solar/Nebula/Stardust armour of your class carry it. The nurse-in-a-box strategy remains the classic crutch, and no shame in it.
Victory drops Luminite and a class weapon from the best loot table in the game - and opens the road to Infinity +1 Sword. World complete; hats off.
Tin-Foil Hatter
UncommonTriumph over a martian invasion, when beings from out of this world come to scramble your brains and probe you in uncomfortable places.
Post-Golem, Martian Probes spawn in the outer thirds of the map (commonest in space) - let one see you and escape, and the Martian Madness invasion begins. The Saucer boss is the event's real fight; a roofed arena neuters its deathray. Beat the event to 100% and it pops, with the Cosmic Car Key and Influx Waver among the spoils. If probes won't show, AFK on a sky bridge near the world edge with a water candle.
Sword of the Hero
UncommonObtain a Terra Blade, forged from the finest blades of light and darkness.
The Terra Blade needs the True Night's Edge and True Excalibur, each forged from its pre-hardmode ancestor plus a Broken Hero Sword (Mothron drops during post-Plantera Solar Eclipses, Kill the Sun). That means the whole sword lineage: Night's Edge (Muramasa + Blade of Grass + Fiery Greatsword + the evil-biome sword) and Excalibur (Hallowed Bars). Assemble the family tree at a mythril anvil and the green beam sword of legend is yours - also a required ingredient one day for
Infinity +1 Sword.
Star Destroyer
UncommonDefeat the four celestial towers of the moon.
The Cultist's death raises four Celestial Pillars across the map - Solar, Vortex, Nebula, Stardust - each shielded until you've killed enough of its minions (100, fewer in multiplayer). Take them in the order that suits your build's counters, and treat Solar's crawltipedes with respect: stay grounded there. Each pillar drops fragments for endgame gear; the fourth pillar's fall starts the Moon Lord's one-minute countdown (Champion of Terraria), so bank your gear before pillar four if you're not ready.
Drax Attax
UncommonCraft a drax or pickaxe axe using hallowed bars, and the souls of the three mechanical bosses.
Craft either the Drax or the Pickaxe Axe at a mythril/orichalcum anvil from 18 Hallowed Bars plus one soul of each mechanical boss (Might, Sight, Fright) - so all three mechs must be down (Buckets of Bolts). Either tool mines chlorophyte (
Photosynthesis), which is the whole point.
Fish Out of Water
UncommonDefeat Duke Fishron, mutant terror of the sea.
Fish in the Ocean with a Truffle Worm (a rare glowing mushroom-biome critter, caught with a bug net) as bait and Duke Fishron erupts out of the water furious. He's the hardmode skill check: sharknado charges, bubble walls, and a lights-out enrage in the final phase. A very long runway or big loop, high-tier wings, and don't stray from the ocean or he enrages harder. His drops (Tsunami, Razorblade Typhoon, Fishron Wings) outclass most of the tier - worth learning the dance.
Red Moon Rises
UncommonYou have survived the Blood Moon!
Big Booty
UncommonUnlock one of the dungeon's large, mysterious chests with a special key.
Biome Chests sit locked in the dungeon - Jungle, Corruption, Crimson, Hallowed, Frozen (and Desert) - each wanting its matching Biome Key, an exceedingly rare (1-in-2500) drop from enemies in that biome, usable only after Plantera. Farm your chosen biome with battle potions and a water candle; the Jungle Key's Piranha Gun and the Hallowed Key's Rainbow Gun (Rainbows and Unicorns) are popular targets. Unlock any one chest and it pops.
Sick Throw
UncommonObtain the Terrarian.
The Terrarian is the Moon Lord's yoyo - a straight 1-in-9 drop from the man himself (Champion of Terraria). No crafting, just repetition: farm him with Celestial Sigils until the string of fate delivers. The best yoyo in the game, if you're still throwing lines by then (
Throwing Lines).
Servant-in-Training
UncommonComplete your 1st quest for the angler.
The Angler sleeps on the Ocean beach - wake him, house him, and he hands out one fishing quest a day (a specific fish from a specific biome, shown when you talk to him). Deliver the first and this pops. The chain continues at Good Little Slave,
Trout Monkey,
Fast and Fishious and the long march to
Supreme Helper Minion! - and the quest rewards (Golden Fishing Rod parts aside, the tackle and info accessories) are how
Glorious Golden Pole and
Black Mirror happen.
Slayer of Worlds
UncommonDefeat every boss in Terraria.
There are actually 15 bosses, but you only need 14 for the achievement. This achievement was glitched in 2015/2016 - but works ok now.
It Can Talk?!
UncommonBuild a house in a mushroom biome and have the Truffle move in.
Truffle needs a house inside a surface Glowing Mushroom biome (Funkytown), and only moves in during hardmode. Build the biome, drop a valid house in the middle of it, and the anthropomorphic mushroom arrives with a shop of mushroom-themed kit - including the Autohammer you'll want for Shroomite armour. He talks, yes. Try not to stare.
Archaeologist
UncommonKill Doctor Bones.
Doctor Bones is a zombie in an explorer's hat who spawns on the surface Jungle at night - rare, and exactly as squishy as any other zombie when he does show. Night-time jungle lingering with a Battle Potion and Water Candle brings him out within a few evenings. Kill for the achievement; he drops his rather good Archaeologist's hat.
Vanity of Vanities
UncommonLooking good!
The three social slots sit next to your armour slots - drop any vanity clothing or spare armour into head, shirt and pants social slots and it pops. A cheap vanity set from the Clothier (or the Familiar set) does it in one shopping trip.
Terraria Student
UncommonYou have begun the tutorial!
Start the tutorial from the main menu - this pops the moment it begins. Its sibling Terraria Expert wants it finished, so may as well see it through; it's a short guided tour and console-only heritage.
Baleful Harvest
UncommonReach the 15th wave of a pumpkin moon, where evil lurks among the autumn harvest.
The Pumpkin Moon summons with a Pumpkin Moon Medallion (30 pumpkins + 5 ectoplasm + 10 hallowed bars at a mythril anvil) at night, and runs waves until dawn - wave 15 is the target. It's a DPS check: post-Golem gear, a proper arena (lava trenches, heart lanterns, honey pools), and summon the moment night falls to leave time. Mourning Wood and Pumpking drop the event's excellent loot; wave 15 pops the achievement even if dawn cuts short your victory lap. Its winter sibling is Ice Scream.
Icarus
UncommonYou can only go down from here!
Reach Space - the very top of the map, where gravity weakens and harpies give way to nothing at all. A tower of platforms, a stack of rope, or (in hardmode) just wings pointed upward. The background stars and the depth meter reading 'Space' tell you you've arrived.
Leading Landlord
UncommonMeet with a tenant who's as happy as they possibly can be!
Get one NPC to maximum happiness and have a chat. Happiness comes from biome preference, favourite neighbours, and low crowding - the two-per-neighbourhood rule. The stock easy win: the Ocean with the Angler and Pirate, or the Snow with the Goblin Tinkerer and Mechanic (a couple who like each other and their biome). Park the pair alone in their preferred biome, talk to them, and when their prices bottom out and the dialogue glows, it pops - they'll also sell you their biome's pylon, which is the real reward.
Marathon Runner
UncommonYou have traveled over 42km on the ground!
A Shimmer In The Dark
UncommonShimmer an item into another item. What other transmutations can you find?
Shimmer is the pearly pool in the Aether cavern, hidden in the outer underground of every 1.4.4+ world. Toss almost any item in and it transmutes into something else - ores swap tiers, potions become their reverse, and plenty of unique conversions besides. One transmutation pops it. The Aether itself is worth the hunt: shimmered gear underpins several other achievements (New Digs,
Training Day).
Rock Bottom
UncommonThe only way is up!
Dig down until the stone gives way to ash and lava lakes - the Underworld spans the bottom of every world, and touching down there pops it. A hellevator (straight vertical shaft) is the traditional approach; bring obsidian skin potions or build carefully, because the lava is not decorative.
Crowd Control
UncommonYou have defeated the Goblin Army!
Dead Men Tell No Tales
UncommonYou were so preoccupied with whether or not you could open the chest that you didn't stop to think if you should.
The Dead Man's Chest is a trapped golden chest found in the underground - wired conspicuously to boulders, explosives and dart traps. The achievement is Darwinian: open it and die to its booby traps within moments. Spot one (the wires give it away), stand close, open, accept your fate. If you'd rather loot it and live, that's a separate engineering puzzle - but not this achievement.
Real Estate Agent
UncommonHave all possible town NPCs living in your world.
Every town NPC housed at once. That's the full roster: the shopkeepers as their conditions unlock (money for the Merchant, a gun for the Arms Dealer, beaten bosses and events for the rest), the rescue NPCs found bound underground (Goblin Tinkerer, Mechanic, Wizard, Tavernkeep, Stylist, Angler), Truffle in his mushroom biome (It Can Talk?!), and the hardmode arrivals through to the post-Golem stragglers like the Princess - who requires everyone else first, so she's effectively the trigger. Build a proper street of housing early and this resolves itself by the endgame; the happiness system (
Leading Landlord) rewards spreading them across biomes in pairs they like.
Challenge Accepted
UncommonYou have unlocked Hard Mode!
Landscaper
UncommonYou have removed more than 10,000 blocks!
10,000 tiles mined, cumulative - a stat, not a task. Any hellevator alone is a couple of thousand; normal play buries this long before hardmode. Nothing to plan.
Gelatin World Tour
UncommonDefeat every type of slime there is!
Every slime variety killed - and the list is longer than you'd think: the colour family, biome slimes (sand, jungle, ice, dungeon, lava, shimmer), the rare Pinky (Pretty in Pink) and Rainbow Slime (hardmode Hallow during rain), King Slime and Queen Slime, the Corrupt/Crimson variants, and the seasonal party/event ones... the tracked set is broad, so expect the last few to be the rare spawns. The Bestiary's slime pages double as your checklist - anything without a kill count still needs squashing. Rainbow Slime is the usual final holdout: Hallowed surface, rain, patience.
A Rather Blustery Day
RareFly a kite on a windy day.
Buy or find a kite (the Zoologist sells them, and several drop from critters), wait for a Windy Day - the weather event with leaves streaming sideways - and let it out on the surface. It pops as the kite takes flight. Thoroughly wholesome.
Dye Hard
RareEquip a dye in every possible dye slot.
Fill every equipment dye slot - the column beside your armour and accessory slots - with a dye in each. Craft cheap dyes from basic flowers at a Dye Vat (the Dye Trader sells one), or trade him Strange Plants for the fancy ones, then slot the lot. Any dyes count, matching not required, taste optional.
Be Prepared
RareYou are ready for battle!
Five buffs active at once: line up five potions (ironskin, regeneration, swiftness, night owl, and whatever else the alchemy bench produced) and drink the lot. Food and campfire-style buffs stack the count too. Ready for battle, as promised.
Do You Want to Slay a Snowman?
RareTriumph over the frost legion, a festive family of maniacal snowman mobsters.
The Frost Legion summons by using a Snow Globe, found by opening Presents (dropped by anything during the Christmas season) - on PC that's mid-December to end of December, or set the system clock. Fight the snowmen mobsters like any invasion: choke point, area damage, done. One of the easier events by the time you can source the globe.
You and What Army?
RareCommand nine summoned minions simultaneously.
Nine minions at once needs stacked summon capacity: Stardust armour (+5), a Necromantic Scroll and Papyrus Scarab, a Pygmy Necklace, a Bewitching Table's buff and a Summoning Potion get you there - then summon your nine. Endgame-summoner territory, but any class can borrow the gear for the minute it takes. Pops the moment the ninth minion materialises.
Glorious Golden Pole
RareObtain a golden fishing rod.
The Golden Fishing Rod is the Angler's reward for your 30th completed quest. Do the dailies (Good Little Slave chain) and it arrives on schedule; it's the best rod in the game, so everything fishy gets easier from here.
Mecha Mayhem
RareDo battle against the Twins, the Destroyer, and Skeletron Prime simultaneously and emerge victorious.
All three mechs at once - summon the Destroyer, the Twins and Skeletron Prime together (three summon items, one night) and win. Do it well post-Plantera when your gear outclasses them: the Destroyer dies first to anything piercing, then the Twins, then Prime. A long asphalt runway plus wings, or the classic slow-falling gravitation-potion box, keeps the chaos survivable. Comfortably easier than it sounds once you're in beetle/spectre-tier kit.
Ice Scream
RareReach the 15th wave of a frost moon, where the festive season quickly degrades into madness.
The Frost Moon summons with a Naughty Present (20 silk + 5 ectoplasm + 5 souls of fright) at night; wave 15 before dawn is the ask, and it's a stiffer DPS check than its pumpkin sibling Baleful Harvest. Endgame gear helps enormously - many come back post-Moon-Lord to brute-force it. Arena essentials: heart lanterns, campfires, honey, and burst damage for Ice Queens. Summon at the first tick of night.
Good Little Slave
RareComplete your 10th quest for the angler.
Ten Angler quests - one per in-game day, each a specific fish from a specific biome. While a quest is active you can catch spares and chest them: when the same quest rolls round again later, a stored fish hands straight in. Sleeping through nights speeds the calendar along. Onward to Trout Monkey.
Prismancer
RareObtain a rainbow rod.
Craft at a mythril/orichalcum anvil from Hallow produce plus Twins souls: 10 Crystal Shards, 2 Unicorn Horns, 10 Pixie Dust, 8 Souls of Light and 15 Souls of Sight. So: an underground Hallow farming trip, then beat the Twins (Ophthalmologist), then assemble. A lovely controllable-projectile weapon for its tier, too.
Just Desserts
RareDefeat Queen Slime, giving the coup-de-grace to the sovereign of all that jiggles.
Queen Slime summons from a Gelatin Crystal - found glinting among the crystal shards of the Underground Hallow (interact like a Plantera bulb: break it where it stands). She's an early-hardmode fight: phase one bounces and spawns minions, phase two takes flight, so bring wings-adjacent mobility and fight on a platform arena in the Hallow. Drops the lovely Volatile Gelatin and slime mount kit.
Ride the Worm
RareYou have defeated The Destroyer!
Summon with a Mechanical Worm (or wait - the mechs spawn naturally at night until beaten). The Destroyer is one long segmented worm plus a swarm of probes: build a sky bridge or box, and bring piercing or area damage - jester arrows early, or the Daedalus Stormbow raining holy arrows melts it embarrassingly fast. The probes drop hearts, which is your sustain. Souls of Might from the carcass build the Megashark.
Hero of Etheria
RareRepel the strongest forces the Old One's Army can muster.
The Old One's Army tower-defence event: buy the Eternia Crystal and Stand from the Tavernkeep (he wanders in after the Eater/Brain dies), plant them on a long flat run, and defend the crystal through the waves. This achievement wants Tier 3 - available post-Golem - beaten. Build with the Tavernkeep's Defender Medal sentries, hold both lanes, and prioritise the Betsy fight at the end; her wings and weapons are the event's best loot.
To Hell and Back
RareYou have gone to The Underworld and back without dying!
A clean round trip: surface to the Underworld (It's Getting Hot in Here) and back up, without dying on the way. Do it deliberately rather than during a chaotic hellstone run - a finished hellevator with a rope or minecart line, a warding accessory loadout, and don't dawdle at the bottom. A Magic Mirror does count for the return leg, which makes this far gentler than it sounds.
Ophthalmologist
RareYou have defeated The Twins!
Summon with a Mechanical Eye (or wait for the natural night spawn). Retinazer lasers from range; Spazmatism's cursed-flame charges are the real killer - most players burn down Spazmatism first. A very long runway (asphalt if you can) or a big loop with wings keeps their charges whiffing. Souls of Sight from the wreckage craft the Magical Harp and the Optic Staff.
A Rare Realm
RareSome very special seeds can lead to unique and rewarding experiences. Can you find one?
Generate and enter a world with any secret seed typed into the seed box: drunk world (05162020), for the worthy, celebrationmk10, the constant, not the bees, don't dig up, no traps, or the everything-at-once getfixedboi. Stepping into the world pops it - and a getfixedboi world doubles as the venue for Queen Machine and
My People Need Me, so consider making that your one weird world.
Bona Fide
RareYou have defeated Skeletron Prime!
Summon with a Mechanical Skull (or wait for the natural night spawn). Prime is Skeletron with power tools: four limbs plus a spinning head. Either strip the vice and saw arms first for breathing room, or ignore the limbs and dump everything into the head before dawn - dawn kills you, not him. A big arena with campfires, heart lanterns and an ironskin potion carries it. Souls of Fright complete the mech set for Buckets of Bolts.
Ankhumulation Complete
RareObtain the Ankh Shield, the finest protection from unpleasant maladies and ailments.
The Ankh Shield is the debuff-immunity grail, and the achievement is really a shopping list: combine an Obsidian Shield with the Ankh Charm, which itself stacks Armor Polish, Adhesive Bandage, Bezoar, Nazar, Megaphone, Fast Clock, Trifold Map, Vitamins and Blindfold - each a rare drop from a specific enemy family. Farm with a Battle Potion and Water Candle, tick them off as they land (the hardmode jungle, dungeon and desert cover most), and do the final Tinkerer's Workshop assembly. Slow, satisfying, and the single best defensive accessory in the game.
Infinity +1 Sword
RareObtain the Zenith, the culmination of a journey forged into the ultimate sword.
The Zenith: every era of Terraria's swordsmithing folded into one screen-filling rainbow blender. The recipe (at a mythril anvil): Terra Blade (Sword of the Hero), Meowmere and Star Wrath (Moon Lord drops), Influx Waver (Martian Saucer), The Horseman's Blade (Pumpking), Seedler (Plantera), Starfury (Floating Island chests), Enchanted Sword (surface shrine shards) and the Copper Shortsword you were born with (the Merchant sells one if you binned it).
It's a scavenger hunt across the whole game - the Moon Lord drops and the Enchanted Sword hunt are the usual stragglers. Forge it and nothing that walks, flies or bosses will trouble you again.
Boots of the Hero
RareObtain the Terraspark Boots, forged from the finest boots of fire and ice.
Terraspark Boots = Frostspark Boots + Lava Waders at a Tinkerer's Workshop - which unpacks into a small odyssey: Hermes/flurry-type boots + Rocket Boots + Aglet + Anklet of the Wind + Ice Skates on one side; Obsidian Water Walking (Water Walking Boots + Obsidian Skull) + Lava Charm on the other. The Lava Charm is the classic holdout - underworld/lava-layer chests or lava-crate fishing. All pre-hardmode obtainable, and the finished boots carry you to the credits.
Torch God
RareInvoked the wrath of the God of Torches, and survived long enough to earn its blessing.
Place around 100 torches close together and the Torch God takes offence: torches start spitting fireballs at you. Survive the barrage (dodge among the extinguished torches - a honey pool and campfire regen help, or just tank it in decent armour) and the event ends with the Torch God's Favor. Use the item - that's what pops the achievement, and thereafter your torches auto-match their biome, which quietly fixes your luck. A cave with a flat run is the classic venue.
Black Mirror
RareObtain the Cell Phone. You'll never leave home without it again.
The Cell Phone combines the PDA with a Magic/Ice Mirror - and the PDA is thirteen info accessories deep: watch, depth meter, compass, radar, lifeform analyzer, tally counter, metal detector, stopwatch, DPS meter, fisherman's pocket guide, weather radio and sextant, assembled through intermediate gadgets at the Tinkerer's Workshop. The fishing trio comes from Angler rewards (Good Little Slave chain), the Metal Detector from the Nymph (
Deceiver of Fools), the rest from chests, drops and the Travelling Merchant. A proper collection quest - tick the components off in the crafting tree, then enjoy never wondering what time it is again. The seaside upgrade is
Sea You Later.
Trout Monkey
RareComplete your 25th quest for the angler.
Twenty-five Angler quests, one a day. By now you know the routine: check the quest, warp to the biome (pylons help enormously), catch, deliver, bed to next morning. The reward rolls hand out Golden Fishing Rod progress (Glorious Golden Pole) and fishing accessories along the way.
Fast and Fishious next.
Don't Dread on Me
RareDefeat the Dreadnautilus, murderous mollusk lurking beneath the surface of the sanguine seas.
The Dreadnautilus is a hardmode Blood Moon fishing 'catch' - cast with any bait into water during a Blood Moon and it can take the line instead of a fish (Chum Caster and higher fishing power help the odds). It's a genuinely nasty fight for its tier: relentless charges and blood-spike sprays, so treat it like a mini Duke - open sky arena, good wings, sustained DPS. The Sanguine Staff from its blood-moon stablemates makes a fine consolation while you farm.
Not the Bees!
RareFire a Bee Gun while wearing a full set of Bee Armor.
Both pieces come from Queen Bee (Sting Operation): the Bee Gun is a drop, and Bee armour crafts from her Bee Wax. Put on the full three-piece set, fire the gun once, pop. You'll likely have both from the same couple of hive runs - a tidy little combo achievement on the way past.
Hot Reels!
RareDrop a lure in a pool of lava for a pre-fried haul!
Lava fishing needs one of three things: a Hotline Fishing Hook (Angler quest reward, 1-in-4 after 25 quests), a Lavaproof Fishing Hook accessory (obsidian/hellstone crate catch), or Underworld critters as bait (lavafly, magma snail, hell butterfly - caught with a Lavaproof Bug Net). Rig up any of them, cast into an Underworld lava pool, and the achievement pops on your first pre-fried catch. Obsidian Crates and the flarefin/obsidifish family make it worth more than the one cast.
Fae Flayer
RareDefeat the Empress of Light, responsible for all those flashy lights and glitter.
The Empress of Light wakes when you kill a Prismatic Lacewing - a rare fairy-moth that flutters about the surface Hallow at night after Plantera. Fight her at night and every attack is dodgeable-with-practice bullet-hell; touch her in daytime and everything one-shots you (that's the separate Terraprisma challenge, not this achievement - night is fine). Long runway, top-tier wings, and learn the sword-wall and sun-dance patterns. Her loot is dazzling and mostly worth the bruises.
An Eye For An Eye
RareDefeat Deerclops, the chilly one-eyed monstrosity from a foreign land.
Deerclops (the Don't Starve crossover boss) summons with a Deer Thing (flinx fur + a lens + demonite/crimtane ore at an altar) used in the Snow biome - or spawns naturally there during a blizzard at midnight once anyone has 9 defence or 200 HP. Pre-hardmode-friendly: dodge the ice spikes and shadow hands, and don't stand in the debris rain. Drops fun Don't Starve-flavoured toys including the Lucy axe.
Maxed Out
RareYou have the maximum health and mana!
Rainbows and Unicorns
RareFire a rainbow gun while riding on a unicorn.
Two Hallow treasures in one pose: the Rainbow Gun lives in the dungeon's Hallowed Chest (needs the 1-in-2500 Hallowed Key, post-Plantera - see Big Booty), and the Unicorn Mount's Blessed Apple drops from Hallow unicorns (1-in-200ish). Saddle up, fire the rainbow, pop. Pure style points, and fair play to whoever at Re-Logic dreamed the image up.
Fast and Fishious
RareComplete your 50th quest for the angler.
Fifty Angler quests, one a day - the quarter-way marker on the road to Supreme Helper Minion!. The efficient loop: bed by the Angler, wake, quest, pylon to the biome, catch, deliver, sleep. With sorted bait and a decent rod each quest is a couple of minutes of real time, and a chest of stored spare quest fish shortcuts the repeats.
Exterminator
RareYou have defeated every boss!
Every boss in the game downed - the full ladder: King Slime, Eye of Cthulhu, the evil-biome pair (both Worm Fodder and
Mastermind, so a second world or opposite-evil farm), Queen Bee, Skeletron, Deerclops, Wall of Flesh, Queen Slime, the three mechs, Plantera, Golem, Duke Fishron, Empress of Light, Lunatic Cultist and the Moon Lord (
Champion of Terraria). Both world evils is the only bit that needs planning; everything else is the natural completionist road.
The Great Slime Mitosis
RareFind all of the Slime Pets and have them move in!
House all eight Town Slimes - each has its own recruitment trick:
- Nerdy Slime - beat King Slime (
Slippery Shinobi)
- Squire Slime - drop a Copper Shortsword (or copper helmet) onto an ordinary slime; it dons it and ennobles itself
- Cool Slime - can move in while a party is running (
Jolly Jamboree)
- Surly Slime - fished up during a Blood Moon
- Elder Slime - found in the underground's Old Shaking Chest, opened with a Golden Key
- Clumsy Slime - floats past Sky Islands on a balloon; pop the balloon carefully
- Diva Slime - throw a Sparkle Slime Balloon (Queen Slime drop) into Shimmer
- Mystic Slime - sprinkle Purification Powder on a jungle Frog
Each needs housing like any NPC. When the eighth moves in, mitosis complete. Gloriously daft.
To Infinity... and Beyond!
RareFly a Kwad Racer into outer space.
The Kwad Racer Drone is a post-Plantera novelty sold by the Cyborg for 10 gold (his FPV Goggles, another 10, give you the drone's-eye view). Summon the little quadcopter and fly it straight up until it reaches Space at the top of the map - launching from a sky platform shortens the climb. Purely cosmetic, thoroughly pointless, exactly the point.
Terraria Expert
RareYou have completed the tutorial!
Finish the tutorial started for Terraria Student - follow the guided steps through to the end and both tutorial achievements are done in one sitting. Twenty minutes, tops.
Slimer
LegendaryYou have killed every type of slime!
Going Oldschool
LegendaryBring back the original title screen.
On the title screen, interact with the scenery: click/tap the sun (or moon) on the menu and the game swaps back to the classic old title screen, popping the achievement. No world needed - the rare achievement you can earn without pressing Play.
Engineer
LegendaryYou have placed 100 wires!
Place 100 wire. Buy a Wrench and a couple of stacks of Wire from the Mechanic (rescued from the dungeon post-Skeletron), then run a line - any 100 tiles of wire counts, even a pointless one straight across your lawn. Teleporter networks and trap farms will take you far past this anyway.
Blacksmith
LegendaryYou are a master smith!
10,000 bars smelted, lifetime. Sounds absurd; arrives anyway if you let furnaces run whenever ore comes home. If you're forcing it late: buy or mine bulk cheap ore and batch-smelt while doing something else. A stat achievement, not a challenge.
All in the Family
LegendaryEvery NPC has moved in!
Feast of Midas
LegendaryObtain Golden Delight, the highest quality meal made from the highest quality . . . ingredients.
Cook a Golden Delight at a Cooking Pot or Cauldron - the recipe is any single gold critter (gold bunny, squirrel, bird, frog, Golden Carp from fishing, and so on). Gold critters are the sparkly one-in-four-hundred rarities that flee on sight, so bring a bug net and soft footsteps - or just fish for the Golden Carp, which is the least skittish route. One golden ingredient, one royal dinner, achievement popped.
Fortune Favors the Bould
LegendaryDiscover a friendly boulder.
A friendly boulder: among 1.4.4+'s boulder mischief there's a rainbow-painted specimen that means you no harm - activate/discover one and it pops. Statistically you'll meet it while tripping the underground's many boulder traps; the unfriendly kind pops Watch Your Step! instead, so either way the caves provide. Chill boulders roll at their own pace.
Supreme Helper Minion!
LegendaryComplete a grand total of 200 quests for the angler.
Two hundred Angler quests - the fishing grind's summit and one of the longest achievements in the game. Systematise or suffer: pylons at every biome's fishing hole, a bed beside the Angler, a chest of stored spare quest fish (catch extras while each quest is active; they hand in when it recurs), and the best rod and bait you own. A quest cycle settles to a couple of real-time minutes, so it's an hours-long podcast job rather than a hard one. The little tyke never does learn gratitude.
And Good Riddance!
LegendaryCompletely purify all Corruption, Crimson, and Hallow from your world, until the Dryad is satisfied!
Total purification: not one block of Corruption, Crimson or Hallow left, until the Dryad's status check reads a clean 0% of each. The Clentaminator with Green Solution (from the Steampunker) is the tool; the method is systematic coverage - a grid of hellevator shafts across the map, sweeping spray runs along each, and the Dryad consulted between passes. Underground pockets and single stray blocks are the tail; explore the map fully so remnant colour shows on it. One of the game's longest tidy-ups - budget a few sessions and podcasts.
Unusual Survival Strategies
LegendaryDelay death from drowning by drinking water. It doesn't make much sense, but you did what you had to do.
While drowning - breath meter empty, health ticking down underwater - drink Bottled Water. It delays the drowning damage, which makes no sense at all, and that's precisely the joke. Craft Bottled Water at a sink or water's edge (empty bottle + water), swim down, wait for the bubbles to run out, and glug. Achievement popped, physics unharmed.
New Digs
LegendaryGive any villager a new look.
Dunk a town NPC in Shimmer (the Aether pool, A Shimmer In The Dark) - carry or lure one over and let it submerge. It re-emerges in an alternate outfit, permanently restyled (repeat dunks toggle back). Any NPC works; the Guide is traditionally volunteered. Pops on the transformation.
Spicy Licks
LegendaryJam out on a six stringed instrument.
Play any guitar-type instrument - The Axe (a rare Plantera drop) is the canonical six-string, but the Ivy (jungle shrine guitar) and other strummables count. Equip, jam, pop. Rock on.
Training Day
LegendaryGet your villagers fully combat ready.
Use both volumes of Advanced Combat Techniques on your world - permanent upgrades that make every town NPC fight properly. Volume One is fished up during a Blood Moon (Bloodbath); Volume Two comes from throwing a Spell Tome (bought from the Wizard) into Shimmer (
A Shimmer In The Dark). Use both books and your villagers graduate from bystanders to a militia - achievement pops on the second.
Conservationist
LegendarySupport sustainable logging by planting 100 acorns.
Plant 100 acorns. Buy acorns from the Dryad (or shake them out of trees), then walk a grassy plain planting as you go - they need grass or dirt with room either side. A hundred saplings later, sustainable logging is assured and the achievement pops. Pairs nicely with replanting after the deforestation you committed for Timber!! onwards.
Organized Chaos
LegendaryFind the ultra rare Rod of Discord.
The Rod of Discord drops from Chaos Elementals in the Underground Hallow at a miserly 1-in-500 (a fifth of that in Expert). Farm the pearlstone caverns with a Battle Potion and Water Candle - a small artificial pearlstone strip in the caverns makes a tidy farm. The rod teleports you to your cursor at the cost of a health-draining debuff if you spam it; genuinely useful for the endgame bullet-hell fights, so the grind pays.
Sea You Later
LegendaryCraft the final upgrade to the Cell Phone.
The Shellphone: combine the Cell Phone (Black Mirror) with a Magic Conch and Demon Conch (both fished - ocean and lava respectively). It teleports to spawn, ocean, underworld or home on demand, which is as close to fast-travel-in-your-pocket as Terraria gets. Craft it and the achievement pops - the last stop on the phone family tree.
I'm Smelting!
LegendaryYou have smelted 10,000 bars of metal!
10,000 bars smelted, lifetime. Sounds absurd; arrives anyway if you let furnaces run whenever ore comes home. If you're forcing it late: buy or mine bulk cheap ore and batch-smelt while doing something else. A stat achievement, not a challenge.
Corruptible
LegendaryYour World is Corrupt!
A legacy console achievement: the Dryad's world-status check needs to report your world seriously Corrupted - guides put the bar around half the world, so this is deliberate vandalism on a scale the Dryad will resent. Buy Corrupt Seeds during a Blood Moon, spread liberally (hardmode's natural spread plus Unholy Water accelerates it), check with the Dryad as you go - then make amends via And Good Riddance!. Best done on a throwaway world you don't love.
Interdimensional Recycling
LegendaryGive the Dryad a can of Joja Cola.
The Stardew crossover gag: obtain a can of Joja Cola (fished up as junk, among other sources) and hand it to the Dryad - she disposes of the interdimensional litter and the achievement pops. If the fishing gods withhold it, keep casting with low fishing power; junk catches are the one time bad gear helps.
Grave Mistake
Legendary“Accidentally” kill a friend with your tombstone.
Multiplayer mischief: tombstones are throwable, and a thrown tombstone that lands the killing blow on a teammate (PvP on, health low) pops this. Coordinate it - friend stands still on a sliver of HP, you lob the gravestone, everyone laughs. "Accidentally", of course.
On Fleek
LegendarySpot the sun on a “cool” day.
Put on Sunglasses (craft from a Black Lens + Lens - dropped by Demon Eyes) and stand on the surface in daylight on a clear sunny day. The sun smiles back, the achievement pops, and you look extremely cool. That's the whole assignment.
Terrarist
LegendaryScare your villagers with a stink bug sword.
The Flymeal is the stink-bug sword: craft it at honey (the crafting liquid, stand by a honey pool) from a Gold or Platinum Broadsword plus 5 Stinkbugs. Uniquely, it can hit town NPCs - whack any villager once, cue fart noise and the Stinky debuff, achievement popped. No villagers seriously harmed; dignity not included.
Hallowed Be Thy Name
LegendaryYour World is Hallowed!
The Hallowed twin of Corruptible: get the Dryad's status check reporting a heavily Hallowed world - guides put the bar around half. Hardmode seeds the Hallow for you; accelerate with Hallowed Seeds from the Dryad, Holy Water, and the Clentaminator's blue solution. Rainbows everywhere, achievement in the post. A throwaway world spares your main one the redecoration.
Book Worm
LegendaryCatalogue every creature in the world.
Complete the Bestiary: every entry filled, which means killing (or for critters and NPCs, encountering) everything in the game, banner-grade rarities included. The Zoologist tracks your percentage and sells better goodies as it climbs. The tail is rare enemies (Nymph, Doctor Bones, Tim, the seasonal event cast) and every event fought to completion - so it naturally lands near the very end of a completionist run. Check the Bestiary's filter for empty silhouettes and hunt by biome. Genuinely one of the longest achievements in the game.
My People Need Me
LegendaryEmbark on a one way trip into outer space.
On a getfixedboi world, flying up past the very top of the map is a one-way trip - space claims you. Get to the world's ceiling (wings, rocket boots, a tall tower) and keep going; the death is the achievement, hence the name. Bring nothing you'd mourn, wave to your people on the way up.
Queen Machine
LegendaryDefeated the combined form of the 3 mechanical giants.
This one wants Mechdusa - the fused form of the three mechanical bosses, exclusive to a world generated with the secret getfixedboi seed. There, craft Ocram's Razor by combining a Mechanical Worm, Mechanical Eye and Mechanical Skull at a mythril/orichalcum anvil, use it at night, and fight all three mechs welded into one hovering horror. Kill the whole assembly (Skeletron Prime's head is the last segment) and it pops. Fighting the three separately-summoned mechs at once is the different achievement, Mecha Mayhem.
Rollin’ In Your Grave
LegendaryTake a ride in your final resting place.
Craft the Coffin Minecart in the Graveyard biome's ecto mist (Quiet Neighborhood), at an iron/lead anvil: 5 iron bars + 10 wood + 10 Rotten Chunks (Corruption worlds) or 10 Vertebrae (Crimson). Equip it in the minecart slot and take a ride on any track - pops as you trundle off in style. It even grants a few seconds of lava immunity, so your final resting place doubles as safety equipment.
Crafty
LegendaryYou have used every crafting station!
Use every crafting station at least once - from work bench and furnace through anvils, alchemy, looms, kegs and the exotic endgame stations (Ancient Manipulator included). Most arrive naturally; the tail is the niche ones you'd never otherwise touch - bookcases, the crystal ball, the blend-o-matic, honey and lava variants. Set up a crafting hall with one of everything and run down the line crafting something trivial at each.
Boulder Lord
LegendaryProve your worth against the Moon Lord's worst.
Defeat the Moon Lord on a For the Worthy world (or getfixedboi, which layers it in) - there his forehead eye lobs enormous boulders on top of the usual deathray-and-eyes routine, and everything hits harder. Come with post-Moon-Lord gear from a normal world if you want mercy, or take the FTW fight straight for the full experience. The kill pops it; see Champion of Terraria for the base tactics.
Extra Life
LegendaryDie as a hardcore character and survive to tell the tale.
Hardcore characters normally die once and become a ghost, full stop - the loophole is the seed combo: a world whose seed layers celebrationmk10 with the constant revives a dying hardcore character (at a steep HP cost) instead of deleting them. Make a throwaway hardcore character, generate the combo world, die on purpose, survive to tell the tale. Daft, obscure, quick once you know the trick.
Fear The Sun
LegendaryDawn the garb of a vampire and get a sunburn.
Seed-gated vampirism: generate a world with the secret seed whatahorriblenighttohaveacurse, don the full Vampire vanity set, and stand on the surface in daylight. The sun does what suns do to vampires - the burn starting is the unlock, so skip umbrellas, sun-protection accessories and paddling pools that would keep you comfortable. Get scorched, get the achievement.
It’s Shaling Outside
LegendarySurvive the dreaded rain of boulders.
Boulder weather: on the right secret-seed world (the drunk + For the Worthy combination - both layered into getfixedboi too) storms can rain boulders instead of raindrops. Be outside for the event and survive it to the end - the achievement lands when the geological forecast clears. Hard hat energy; an actual Hard Hat won't hurt.
Mini-Me
LegendaryBecome a Moon Lord impersonator.
Wear the Moon Lord Mask, Torso and Legs together - a scavenger hunt across the secret seeds. The Mask drops from the Moon Lord himself (Champion of Terraria); the Torso comes from Golden Lock Boxes opened on a For the Worthy world; the Legs turn up in chests on drunk world or getfixedboi seeds (about 1-in-15 per chest). A single getfixedboi world - which layers all the seed effects - is the efficient hunting ground. Equip all three: cosplay of cosmic horror, achievement popped.
Trash Compactor
LegendaryResearch 50% of all items in Journey Mode.
Journey Mode only: research (sacrifice) enough duplicates to unlock half of all item types. Duplicates-to-research counts vary per item, so the road there is dumping everything you loot into research as you play - chests, drops, crafted spares, the lot. A Journey character who plays the game to the endgame while researching habitually crosses 50% naturally; block/furniture stacks are cheap wins for the last stretch.
Pet Hoarder
LegendaryYou seem to like pets.
A console-era achievement for amassing the game's pet-summoning items - the vanity companions from chests and rare drops (Seaweed from jungle crates, the Bone Key, Honeycombs, Wolf Fangs and friends, depending on version). Collect and use them as they surface; guides rate this among the grindier console unlocks purely on drop rates, so treat it as a long-tail collection rather than a session's work.
A Knight in Shining Armors
LegendaryYou have obtained every type of armor.
Every armour type obtained - the console-era mega-collection spanning wood to endgame, including each mechanical-tier set's three helmet variants. In practice it's a crafting audit of the whole game: keep one of every set you pass through rather than shredding it, then work down a checklist for the exotic ones (fishing, event and drop-based sets included). One of the longest console unlocks; a wiki checklist and a big storage room are the right toolkit.
